This year I began using Slider worms and the jig heads that go with them. Traditionally slider worms are fished on shorter, lighter rods with light line. Right now I use a 5’6″ light powered spinning rod paired with a 1000 size reel and 6lb mono. The jig heads I use are 1/16th oz. and a 4 inch straight tailed worm. Aside from the Slider brand products, I also use the Owner Ultrahead Bullet head jigs and other 4 inch worms like Zoom or Roboworm. I’ve had moderate success. I really like using the lighter baits and lighter rods. And now I find myself looking for lighter/smaller options of popular baits like the micro chatterbait or the SK Bitsy Bug jigs. Has anyone else tried the lighter side?

We don’t have a lot of submerged vegetation so I would say wood with some rock thrown in as well.
